Dream City Church is a dynamic, multi-site Christian church in the Phoenix metro area known for its community outreach, innovative ministry, and impactful leadership. Under Pastors Tommy and Luke Barnett, Dream City Church focuses on leading people into a fully devoted relationship with Jesus Christ through authentic connection, service, and hope-filled teaching.
With more than 100 years of history, Dream City Church continues to grow by reaching new generations through creative, relevant ministry. Illustrated sermons, large-scale productions, and multimedia storytelling make the gospel accessible in a modern culture, while pioneering outreach programs extend Christ’s love to families, neighborhoods, and underserved communities across Arizona.

SEU Arizona was created to offer a college experience where academic excellence and hands-on ministry training come together. Formed in partnership with Southeastern University, the program blends accredited degree programs with real ministry development at Dream City Church.

What sets SEU Arizona apart is our professors and leaders. Students learn from active pastors, educators, and ministry professionals who bring real-world experience into every class and training environment.

Here, students don’t choose between university or ministry — they receive both. It’s a place to grow in calling, confidence, and leadership while earning a degree designed for success in the church and the workplace.

Meet Our Team

Barnett College of Ministry & Theology

The Barnett College of Ministry & Theology at Southeastern University equips students for the ministry roles most needed in today’s local church. Since 1935, Southeastern University has been training influential pastors, missionaries, worship leaders, and Christian educators who serve the global church with excellence.

Named in honor of SEU Chancellor Tommy Barnett of Dream City Church, the college is built on a legacy of leadership, spiritual formation, and hands-on ministry development. Students are prepared to lead, teach, counsel, and inspire as they carry the mission of Christ into their communities.

The Barnett College includes four specialized schools designed to help students grow in their calling:

  • School of Worship

  • School of Ministry & Missions

  • School of Bible & Theology

  • School of Divinity

Whether you feel called to pastoral leadership, global missions, biblical studies, or worship ministry, SEU provides the academic foundation and practical training you need to influence the future of the church.

Experience

At SEU Arizona, students are immersed in the vision and ministry culture of Dream City Church. Through weekly chapels, mentorship groups, leadership teachings, events, and outreach opportunities, students grow spiritually while gaining real ministry experience.

A key part of the program is the Practicum, where students serve in hands-on ministry roles across Dream City Church. Instead of only studying ministry theory, students actively participate in it — developing practical skills, leadership confidence, and real-world ministry impact.

Exclusive access

Students at SEU Arizona receive behind-the-scenes access to the heart of Dream City Church. They attend weekly pastoral staff meetings, participate in College Chapel, and engage in small-group mentorship that builds leadership, character, and spiritual depth.

Beyond the classroom, students serve at major Dream City events, support outreach at the Phoenix Dream Center, and receive exclusive leadership training directly from Pastors Tommy and Luke Barnett. This is hands-on ministry development you won’t find anywhere else.
